Jack: Month 4

Jack is FOUR MONTHS OLD!!

He's getting slightly bigger and a whole lot smarter every single day. Jack started rolling from his back to his tummy, although only if no ones watching ;) he was very tricky at first - we would put him on his blanket on the floor to play and when we turned back...BAM! Jack would be on his tummy. WHAT?? Now he just rolls to his side and stays there, often arching his back so he can look around.

Jack has also decided that while playing with his toes is fun, sucking on them is so much better!

Little goober...he also started sticking his tongue out at us and blowing spit bubbles!

On Friday, Jonathan, Jack, and I went up to the Uinta Mountains for a beautiful day out as a little family. Jack did really well for a two hour drive but when we got there he was a little sleepy :)

We put Jack in a forward facing baby carrier so he could look around more. He LOVES it!

We stopped first at the Provo River Falls...

Look at those big baby blues :)

Yummmmmmmmy bib :) Om Nom Nom!!

We hiked up a bit to get closer tot he falls....and discovered that Jack is NOT a fan of roaring water falls! Every time we would walk closer to the water he would start fussing and shouting, then go completely calm when we walked away.

Then we took a really nice walk around Mirror Lake.

It was sooooooo sunny and beautiful and a little windy :)

Lovely trails and shady trees!

and

a beautiful clear blue lake :)

Jonathan pointing out where we parked.....on the other side of the lake. We walked all the way around it!

It was VERY sunny, here's Jonathan shading Jack's eyes while he sleeps...

and sleeps :)

Lunch! Delicious bagel sammiches :)  We are so happy that Jack loved being outside and enjoying the day with us.

Jack: Week 16

Jack got....his first haircut! Ok, so it was really more of a trim but for all you moms out there who have given your babies their first hair cut it doesn't matter how much you cut off, its still hard. Jack has rubbed himself a nice bald spot on the back of his head and its migrated to the sides a little so his sideburns on the left are WAAAY shorter than the sideburns on the right. (if you look closely at some of the other pictures in this post you'll notice the little scraggly hairs we are now rid of). So....Jonathan and I decided it was time to even things up a bit. We also tried to comb Jack's hair to the side...yeah that didn't work. His hair just loves to fluff up! I guess we'll be sticking with the Mohawk for now :)

Even on both sides! Yay!

(Notice that his hair does not stick down past his ear anymore!)

Jack has been making more silly faces! He just started sucking in his bottom lip...there's a few pictures we were able to get. Also, Jack's smile is fairly elusive when we pull out the camera. One minutes he's all grins and wiggles so we pull out of the camera and the next thing we know he's just staring at it with this blank look on his face....The few pictures we've been able to get are all so adorable we can't get enough!

and....I have no idea what this face was about... horror? haha maybe he just realized he's stuck with us ;)

 and...theres that bottom lip again...

and again!

Chubby cheeks!!!!

Just another Sunday morning before church.

This is Jonathan's favorite picture of Jack :)

He's started grabbing and playing with his colorful, and sometimes noisy, toys!

What's with the legs?

Here's a video of Jack's wiggles and amazing toy grabbing skills :)

Jack meeting his Uncle Camden, my littlest bro :) They're so cool together!

Although it was nap time and Jack got super grumps....

and just some more random, adorable, and sweet pictures of Jack :)
